Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered care by applying the nursing process from assessment through post-op follow-up
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate seamless perioperative care
• Serve as the circulating and/or scrub nurse as needed to support procedural efficiency and patient safety
• Recognize and respond to post-anesthesia and post-operative complications using strong nursing assessment skills
• Provide physical and emotional support to patients and families during the surgical experience
• Supervise and mentor assigned team members to maintain high standards of care
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe operating room environment and equipment readiness
• Participate in 24-hour call coverage to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current Washington State or MultiState RN license (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification on hire (required)
• ACLS & PALS required
• Previous Operating Room and Recovery Room nursing experience preferred
• Comfortable functioning as circulating and/or scrub nurse and supervising team members
• Ability to participate in rotating on-call coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid grasp of the nursing process and clinical judgment in the perioperative setting
• Skilled in patient assessment and recognizing post-anesthesia/post-op complications
• Experience with Operating Room nursing workflows, sterile technique, and equipment setup
• Strong communication and collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Competent documentation and adherence to Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards
• Ability to maintain a safe, organized work area under fast-paced conditions
