Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile instrument trays and surgical supplies with precision
• Assist surgeons and the surgical team during procedures while maintaining the sterile field
• Perform instrument counts and documentation to support patient safety
• Ensure OR setup meets specialty-specific competency standards
• Participate in Trinity specialty testing and the Trinity Skills Checklist to demonstrate proficiency
• Follow infection control, safety protocols, and licensing requirements consistently
• Complete required documentation and communicate clearly with perioperative team members

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• License/Certificate verification required prior to start
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass required health screenings (drug screen, fit test) and have up-to-date immunizations
• Comfort working the specified Monday-Thursday, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM schedule

Education

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent training preferred
• High school diploma or GED as a baseline

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong sterile technique and instrumentation handling
• Familiarity with operating room procedures and surgical team roles
• Attention to detail for counts, setup, and documentation
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-pressure environments
• Adherence to infection prevention and safety protocols
• Willingness to complete competency testing and ongoing skills development
