Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to inpatient GI and endoscopy patients
• Monitor patients' vital signs and recovery during post-procedure and inpatient care
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and according to protocols
• Assist physicians and endoscopy teams during procedures and ensure smooth patient flow
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress precisely in EPIC EMR
• Educate patients and families on procedures, post-procedure care and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain a safe, sterile environment and adhere to infection control standards

Qualifications

• Active California RN license (required)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• Minimum 1 year of GI or Endoscopy nursing experience (required)
• Experience with EPIC EMR (required)
• Certified Gastroenterology RN (CGRN) preferred
• Comfortable working variable 10-hour day and evening shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of GI and endoscopy procedures, prep and post-procedure care
• Proficient in EPIC documentation and electronic charting workflows
• Skilled in patient assessment, sedation/recovery monitoring and IV management
• Excellent communication and teamwork between nursing and procedural staff
• Ability to prioritize, triage and respond to changing clinical needs
• Familiarity with infection control and sterile technique in procedural settings
