Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain sterile processing equipment, including washers and steam autoclaves
• Assemble, sterilize, and prepare surgical instrument trays and procedural sets with precision
• Inspect instruments for proper function and report issues to supervisors
• Clean instruments and perform necessary maintenance procedures prior to sterilization
• Record sterilizer test results and maintain accurate documentation of loads and maintenance
• Verify instrument inventories and document any missing or damaged items according to SOPs
• Effectively communicate with operating room personnel to support surgical schedules
• Recommend process improvements and participate in departmental quality efforts
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and demonstrate professional behavior
• Engage in opportunities for professional growth and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Active CRCST certification required
• Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification on hire
• Proven ability to operate autoclaves and washer-disinfectors
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and power equipment
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to standard operating procedures
• Good communication skills for effective collaboration with OR staff
• Reliable documentation skills for sterilizer testing and inventory records
