Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and equipment so each case starts safely and on time
• Assess and monitor patients before, during and after cardiovascular and EP procedures
• Circulate during diagnostic and interventional catheterizations and assist the physician as needed
• Administer procedural sedation and manage patient comfort per unit policy
• Document procedures, handoffs and patient data accurately in real time using MacLab/CardioLab
• Operate and assist with specialized equipment including X‑ray fluoroscopy and intra-cardiac ultrasound
• Provide leadership for safety practices and participate in the Full Stop/Time Out process
• Precept and mentor new staff to build a strong, confident team

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with an active state license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Experience in Cath Lab OR ICU, CVICU or IMC — new grads and med/surg-only nurses are not being considered at this time
• Proven ability to circulate independently during cardiovascular, EP and interventional neurology procedures
• Comfortable with procedural sedation, hemodynamics and intra-procedural patient assessment
• Familiarity with MacLab/CardioLab documentation and X‑ray fluoroscopy proficiency
• Willingness to work varied shifts, respond to on-call pager, and participate in unit mandatories and continuing education

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
• Associate degree or Nursing Diploma accepted with requirement to obtain BSN within 36 months if not already earned
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Cardiovascular nursing and hemodynamics
• Cath Lab procedures and circulation
• Electrophysiology procedures (ablation, device implants, EP studies)
• Interventional Neurology procedures (carotid stenting, thrombectomy, aneurysm embolization)
• Structural heart procedures (TAVR, LAAO)
• Pacemaker and ICD implant experience
• Procedural sedation and patient monitoring
• X‑ray fluoroscopy and intra-cardiac ultrasound operation
• MacLab/CardioLab documentation and real-time charting
• 3D mapping systems and advanced EP tools
