Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for nursing staff in daily operations and patient flow
- Coordinate nursing resources and assignments to maintain safe, efficient care
- Serve as a clinical and administrative decision maker in collaboration with nursing leadership
- Coach and mentor staff, offering constructive feedback to support growth
- Troubleshoot patient and family concerns and escalate when needed
- Monitor employee productivity and ensure clarity of duties and delegated tasks
- Collaborate closely with charge nurses and non-clinical support to optimize workflow
- Organize and implement patient flow strategies to improve timeliness and care transitions
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Montana
- Minimum 3 years of RN hospital experience, recent ICU experience preferred
- CPR certification required
- ACLS required or must obtain within 6 months of employment
- PALS required or must obtain within 6 months of employment
- Experience with ventilator support, A-lines, invasive lines and chest tubes
- Proven experience using multiple IV pumps and advanced medical equipment
- Experience in patient flow, resource nurse duties, and nurse leadership
Education
- Degree from an accredited Nursing Program (RN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of advanced nursing principles and post-operative care
- Expertise in cardiac monitoring and care of medical patients
- Ability to work with patients from infancy through geriatrics
- Excellent people skills, leadership presence and customer service orientation
- Critical thinking, independent judgment and the ability to handle a busy workload
- Comfort with initiating and developing special projects to improve care delivery
- Proficient with basic office equipment and clinical documentation
