Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (day shift) with scheduled on-call: 1 weekend per month and 4-5 weekday call days per pay period. Call coverage runs from end of shift to 7:30 AM the following weekday; weekend call runs from end of shift Friday through Monday 7:30 AM. Day/rotating on-call coverage included.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert nursing care in the cardiac catheterization lab during day shifts
• Assist physicians and the cath lab team with invasive cardiac procedures and patient preparation
• Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, and patient responses during procedures
• Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure procedural safety and equipment readiness
• Perform thorough handoffs and triage while on-call to ensure continuity of care
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes clearly and timely in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery expectations, and post-procedure care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient flow and outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (state verification required)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, NIHSS, CPI (verification required)
• Experience working in a Cardiac Cath Lab or similar interventional cardiology environment (on-call experience a plus)
• Ability to meet Trinity checklist and employer-specific screening requirements (drug screen, fit test, color vision, health forms)
• Comfort with on-call responsibilities, weekend coverage, and transitioning patients between shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong familiarity with cardiac catheterization procedures, cath lab instruments, and sterile workflows
• Proficiency in basic and advanced cardiac life support protocols
• Solid assessment skills for cardiac/acute patients and ability to interpret rhythm and hemodynamic data
• Competence with procedural documentation, handoffs, and on-call triage
• Ability to follow facility-specific checklists and comply with infection control and safety procedures
