Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform advanced radiographic procedures including X-ray and fluoroscopy with C-arm and OR imaging
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment according to manufacturer recommendations
- Follow imaging department protocols and partner with radiologists to ensure accurate studies
- Prioritize patient safety by practicing ALARA radiation safety principles and verifying patient identity
- Educate patients about procedures, obtain informed consent, and review medical history prior to imaging
- Maintain accurate EHR documentation, including procedure charge capture and prior study review
- Assist with inventory management, ordering, and stocking of imaging supplies
- Support team operations through cross-training, mentoring staff, and helping with clerical or transport tasks when needed
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R) required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain within 90 days of hire
- Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful background check and pre-employment drug screen required
- Preferred: prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist and cross-training in CT, MRI, DEXA, or mammography
- Comfortable with PACS and RIS/HIS electronic record systems
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in radiographic procedures and imaging protocols
- Strong knowledge of ALARA radiation safety practices
- Skilled in patient identification, education, and bedside manner
- Proficient with EHR documentation and charge capture workflows
- Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot imaging equipment
- Familiarity with PACS, RIS/HIS systems and digital image management
- Adaptability to assist across modalities and adjust to departmental needs
