Shift Type: Per diem (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM day shift
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $19 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and compassion
- Support mobility and safe transfers, using proper body mechanics and lift assistance as needed
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in condition to nursing staff promptly
- Provide friendly companionship and engage residents in meaningful conversation and activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly during shift handoffs
- Follow infection control, safety protocols, and care plans to protect residents and staff
- Respond to resident needs promptly and advocate for their comfort and well-being
Qualifications
- GNA certification required
- Active/unrestricted state certification and ability to work in Maryland
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred (if not already held, assistance/resources may be available)
- Comfortable working with older adult populations and assisting with ADLs
- Background check and health screening (immunizations) must meet facility requirements
- Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completed GNA training program and current certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
- Ability to safely assist with transfers, mobility, and use of assistive devices
- Good observational skills for noticing changes in skin, mood, behavior, or vitals
- Clear communication and teamwork with nurses, therapists, and facility staff
- Time management to prioritize resident needs during shift
- Respectful, person-centered approach to resident care
