Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, promoting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe mobility and transfers while using proper body mechanics
• Observe residents and promptly report changes in condition to nursing staff
• Document care activities accurately and timely in resident records
• Help create a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in social activities
• Follow infection control, safety, and facility policies to protect residents and staff

Qualifications

• Current GNA/Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification required
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Able to pass background check and any required screenings
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and patience when working with older adults

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• GNA/Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of geriatric care principles and dignity-focused care
• Familiarity with activities of daily living (ADLs) support
• Basic documentation and charting skills
• Infection control practices and safe-handling procedures
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing teams and families
• Good observational skills to notice subtle changes in residents
