Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report meaningful changes to the nurse
- Support mobility and safe transfers while following proper body mechanics
- Document care and observations clearly and promptly in the patient record
- Collaborate with the nursing team to help create a positive care environment
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
Qualifications
- Current, active CNA certification in North Carolina
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing compassionate care
- Previous experience in a long-term care or clinical setting is a plus but not required
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current CNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of basic patient care and infection control principles
- Skillful in assisting with ADLs and safe patient handling
- Comfortable taking vitals and documenting observations
- Good interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, and staff
- Ability to follow care plans and report changes accurately
