Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic exams using CR and DR equipment to support accurate diagnoses
• Operate and troubleshoot PACS, HIS and RIS systems to ensure timely image access and workflow
• Deliver compassionate patient care while maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity
• Practice and promote infection control and body substance isolation in line with hospital and OSHA standards
• Maintain required competencies and attend mandatory annual education (blood borne pathogens, infection control, etc.)
• Assist with supervision or instruction in assigned areas as directed by Lead Technologist or Operations Manager
• Ensure documentation and skills checklists are current and readily available for credentialing

Qualifications

• Active ARRT (R) certification — required
• Active American Heart Association BLS — required
• Active Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License in hand or proof of application — client will not pend license
• Minimum 2 years radiography experience, with 1 year current experience
• Must be willing to work weekends and evenings; 10/12-hour shift requests will not be considered
• Meditech Expanse experience is strongly preferred
• Mammography continuing education current — required
• Provide work history, skills checklist (X-Ray Technologist current to 1 year), and 1 supervisory signed reference from within the past two years
• NOTE: Berkshire Health System will not consider travelers who reside within 50 miles of the facility

Education

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent (program completion implied by ARRT eligibility/certification)

Knowledge & Skills

• Radiography / X-ray (CR and DR)
• PACS operation and troubleshooting
• HIS and RIS familiarity
• Strong patient care and communication skills
• Infection control and body substance isolation practices
• Ability to follow departmental policies and apply independent judgment for technically complex procedures
• Comfort learning or working with Meditech Expanse (preferred)
