Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to elderly residents, ensuring dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to nursing staff
• Support meal and hydration needs while respecting dietary plans and preferences
• Document care delivered accurately and timely to maintain clear resident records
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create a safe, respectful environment
• Engage residents with conversation and companionship to support emotional well-being

Qualifications

• Current Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification in the hiring state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility policy
• Background check and clear health screenings per facility requirements
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program and current certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort and competence with activities of daily living for older adults
• Strong observation and reporting skills to communicate resident changes
• Gentle patient handling and safe transfer techniques
• Empathy, patience, and excellent interpersonal communication
• Ability to follow care plans, safety protocols, and infection control practices
