Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Support mobility and safe transfers while encouraging independence and dignity
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to nursing staff
• Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, and feeding needs in a respectful manner
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
• Promote a clean, safe environment and follow infection prevention practices

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent credential
• Placement on the appropriate state nursing assistant registry if required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Strong communication skills and a patient, respectful bedside manner
• Reliable attendance and ability to perform physical aspects of the role

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of an approved GNA or nursing assistant program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with ADLs, transfers, and basic bedside care
• Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
• Comfortable with basic charting and following care plans
• Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition
• Team player mindset and good interpersonal skills with residents and families
