Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report observations to the nursing team
• Accurately document care, vitals, and resident interactions in the chart or EHR
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and support staff to deliver person-centered care plans
• Promote dignity, independence, and engagement by encouraging social and therapeutic activities
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times

Qualifications

• GNA certification or equivalent (preferred or required by facility)
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Previous experience in geriatric or long-term care is a plus
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and meet facility health requirements
• Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification or equivalent training required or preferred by facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort with basic clinical tasks: vital signs, feeding assistance, toileting, and repositioning
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Time management and prioritization in a busy care environment
• Understanding of resident rights, dignity, and age-related care needs
• Basic familiarity with common safety and infection control practices
