Shift Type: Primarily Night, Rotating 12-hour shifts: Night 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (primary); Day orientation shifts 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM (must be available for 2-3 day shifts for orientation). Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per schedule (Friday & Saturday for nightshift; Saturday & Sunday for dayshift). Holidays as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform continuous remote cardiac surveillance across multiple locations from a centralized monitoring unit
- Recognize, record and report dangerous rhythm changes and arrhythmias following established protocols
- Promptly notify local RN staff of significant rhythm changes using proper communication channels
- Monitor advanced telemetry systems (GE, Ascom) and escalate per command center policy
- Contribute to patient safety and department metrics by following procedures and striving for improved outcomes
- Handle routine and emergency situations professionally under RN direction
- Support a high-volume monitoring environment (up to 45-60 patients per shift) while maintaining accuracy
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited program that includes EKG interpretation (or equivalent training)
- Minimum 2 years of recent related work experience (3 years preferred)
- Current BLS certification required
- Must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting assignment (lethal rhythms are pass/fail; one attempt)
- Availability for 2-3 day shifts for initial orientation if hired for nights
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as outlined in the schedule
- Ability to comply with a strict no personal cell phone policy (hospital provides a work phone)
- No other on-assignment job allowed while working this assignment
Education
- Graduation from an accredited program including EKG interpretation (certificate, diploma, or equivalent).
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong EKG interpretation and advanced dysrhythmia recognition
- Telemetry and remote surveillance/monitoring best practices
- Familiarity with GE monitoring systems and Ascom communication tools
- Experience with Cerner charting is a plus
- Clear clinical communication and escalation skills
- Comfort working in a high-volume virtual monitoring environment
