Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Brooklyn Park, MD
Shift Type: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC (Night shift; days to be confirmed)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, respectful personal care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) with patience and privacy
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistance devices when needed
- Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to the nursing team to ensure timely care
- Document care activities and observations accurately to keep the care plan current
- Collaborate with teammates and families to deliver person-centered care
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents
Qualifications
- GNA certification (listed as Class: GNA) — required or as specified by the facility
- Completion of an approved GNA training program or equivalent
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Background check and immunizations as required by facility policy
- Comfort working with older adults and a genuine interest in geriatric care
- Positive communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an approved GNA program
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic nursing care
- Vital signs and early recognition of changes in resident condition
- Infection control principles and safe hygiene practices
- Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
- Accurate documentation and basic charting skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and empathy for residents and families
- Time management and ability to prioritize care tasks
- Teamwork and clear communication with nursing staff
