Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor residents and promptly report changes in condition to nursing staff
• Support meal times and help ensure hydration and nutrition needs are met
• Document care accurately and timely in resident charts and communication logs
• Follow infection control practices and facility safety protocols
• Collaborate with the care team to create a warm, respectful environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current GNA / Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification or equivalent
• Previous experience working with older adults or in long-term care preferred
• Basic CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; compassionate and patient-focused
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role such as assisting with transfers

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Geriatric care principles and comfort with elder populations
• Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Basic clinical observations and reporting (e.g., vitals, behavior changes)
• Charting and documentation best practices
• Infection prevention and standard precautions
• Teamwork, time management, and a positive attitude
