Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care for patients undergoing CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine and Interventional Radiology procedures
• Prepare patients for procedures, start and maintain IVs, administer and monitor procedural sedation, and provide post-procedure recovery care
• Monitor patients closely for dysrhythmias and manage with appropriate interventions and reversal agents when indicated
• Ensure infection prevention best practices are followed for all imaging and interventional procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across Mount Zion, Parnassus and Mission Bay to ensure smooth patient flow
• Safely use special equipment, including lead aprons, and enter MRI environments as needed
• Document patient care accurately and communicate clear instructions for recovery and follow-up

Qualifications

• Active California RN license (required)
• AHA ACLS and AHA BLS certifications (required)
• IV therapy skills and experience with starting/maintaining IVs (required)
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in ICU, ED, PACU, or procedural areas (required)
• Experience in Interventional Radiology and conscious/procedural sedation (required)
• Ability to wear lead apron and enter MRI environments as needed
• Accepts first-time travelers — travel experience not required
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster required per facility guideline (medical/religious exemptions only)

Knowledge & Skills

• Infection prevention practices and sterile technique
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Familiarity with reversal agents and medication safety
• Comfort with CT/MRI/Ultrasound/Nuclear Medicine imaging environments
• Experience as a circulating nurse, ventilator management, and charge nurse duties (preferred)
