Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident conditions accurately and timely
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Communicate changes in resident condition to nursing staff and document observations
- Assist with hygiene, feeding, and comfort measures while preserving resident dignity
- Contribute to a positive, resident-centered environment through teamwork and empathy
- Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to maintain a safe environment
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (Class: CNA) — required
- Active/state-appropriate CNA credential or eligibility to obtain one in Pennsylvania
- Comfortable working 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM day shifts and able to support patient care needs
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting is a plus
- Ability to pass background checks and any facility-required screenings
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited CNA training program
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and ADL assistance
- Taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Infection prevention and safe hygiene practices
- Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and team members
- Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
- Familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn EMR systems
