Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate students' communication needs and develop individualized intervention plans
- Deliver evidence-based speech and language therapy to support academic and social success
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to implement effective strategies
- Write clear, timely progress notes and IEP documentation that track student growth
- Provide consultative support and training to classroom teams to promote carryover
- Monitor and adjust interventions based on data to ensure measurable progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and advocate for appropriate services for each student
Qualifications
- Valid state license or credential to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Experience working in school settings preferred
- Comfortable conducting evaluations, writing IEPs, and leading student-focused meetings
- Ability to pass background checks and meet district clearance requirements
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, and staff
- Organized and data-driven with a focus on measurable student outcomes
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in assessment of articulation, language, fluency, voice, and pragmatic skills
- Familiarity with IEP development and special education processes
- Experience with classroom-based interventions and consultative service delivery
- Proficient documentation and progress monitoring practices
- Ability to differentiate therapy for diverse learners and age groups
- Strong interpersonal skills for building rapport with students and teams
- Knowledge of evidence-based speech and language intervention strategies
- Comfort using technology and educational tools to support remote or in-person therapy
