Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:15 AM (12-hour), 36-hour weekly guarantee; specific days vary (scheduling requests must be submitted at time of application)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition using the nursing process and document findings clearly and promptly
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on assessment and best practices
- Evaluate patient responses to interventions and update care plans to improve outcomes
- Supervise and delegate aspects of the patient’s plan of care to unit staff with clarity and safety
- Provide leadership on the unit by directing co-workers in safe, effective care delivery
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions and patient progress
- Collaborate with the Med-Surg Nurse Manager and interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
- Perform other duties as assigned to support unit operations and patient needs
Qualifications
- Active Michigan RN license required (LARA and/or Nursys must show active MI license)
- Current American Heart Association BLS (required)
- 2+ years of Med-Surg experience (required)
- Med/Surg Observation experience (required)
- Recent travel nursing experience highly preferred
- Work history and current skills checklist (Med-Surg) required at time of submission
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years (required)
- Will not accept more than 3 days of RTO; scheduling requests must be made at submission
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong nursing assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation skills
- Proven ability to delegate tasks safely and supervise unit staff
- Solid documentation practices and comfort with electronic charting
- Experience with general Med/Surg populations including oncology, obstetrics and hospice care
- Comfort working to target patient ratios (1:4/5 target up to 1:7 when needed)
- Ability to follow established policies, procedures and facility guidelines
- Good communication and teamwork skills with interdisciplinary staff
