Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality PCU and med-surg nursing care, including occasional PCU assignments at a 3:1 ratio
- Manage IVs and drip therapy confidently and safely as drip experience is required
- Serve as charge nurse when scheduled, leading the team and coordinating patient flow
- Float to other inpatient units as needed within your scope of practice
- Maintain accurate documentation and current skills checklists for PCU, med-surg and telemetry
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, patient-centered care
- Support patient safety and clinical quality initiatives in a small critical access hospital
Qualifications
- Active Vermont RN license or compact privilege (Vermont RN license required)
- Current American Heart Association BLS (required)
- Current American Heart Association ACLS (required)
- Minimum 2 years current med-surg/telemetry experience (required)
- Charge nurse experience is required; please note charge experience on your profile
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience is strongly required
- Drip/IV management experience is required
- Minimum 3 months prior travel nursing experience (required)
- ICU experience and small critical access facility experience are strongly preferred
- Traveler must have own vehicle and include permanent address in profile
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years (required)
- All required skills checklists and documentation must be current to 1 year upon submission
Education
- Active Vermont RN license or Compact (required)
- Relevant nursing education and training (ADN/BSN or equivalent) implied by RN licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Med-surg and telemetry nursing skills and best practices
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) patient management and acuity-based care
- IV/Drip management and infusion monitoring
- Charge nurse leadership, delegation and unit coordination
- Ability to float safely to other inpatient units
- Experience working in small, critical access hospital settings
- Strong assessment, clinical judgment and communication skills
