Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy and supportive treatments safely and effectively, following facility protocols
- Access and manage central lines and ports, perform PICC care and manage infusion pumps with precision
- Assess patients, recognize oncologic emergencies and initiate timely interventions to improve outcomes
- Provide compassionate patient and family education about diagnosis, treatment plans and symptom management
- Document care thoroughly and accurately in Epic to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, pharmacists and social work to coordinate complex care
- Apply infection control measures, neutropenic precautions and isolation precautions to protect vulnerable patients
- Support pediatric and adult oncology patients across outpatient and infusion center settings when needed
Qualifications
- Active CA RN license required
- AHA BLS required
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience, including at least 2 years employed in an acute care setting (med-surg or ICU)
- Outpatient oncology experience required
- Ability to float to other UCSF facilities is mandatory
- Epic charting experience required
- Preferred certifications and skills include ACLS, OCN, APHON, ONS/ONCC, CPHON, CPON, NIHSS and PALS
Knowledge & Skills
- Infusion therapy and IV management, including infusion pump operation
- Port access and central line care, including central line blood draws
- Chemotherapy and cytotoxic therapy administration and side effect recognition
- Oncologic emergency recognition and management such as tumor lysis and anaphylaxis
- Symptom management including nausea, neuropathy and mucosal issues
- Phlebotomy, telemetry interpretation and basic wound and ostomy care
- Patient and family education, psychosocial support and care coordination
- Familiarity with pediatric oncology, radiation oncology and BMT environments
