Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to geriatric residents and patients
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to nursing staff
• Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and observations
• Help create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Support rehabilitation activities under direction of nursing or therapy staff
• Communicate respectfully with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Respond promptly to patient needs and call lights to ensure dignity and comfort

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent (required)
• CPR/BLS certification strongly preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfort working with older adults and those in rehabilitation settings
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening per facility requirements
• Up-to-date immunizations as required by facility policy
• Reliable, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited GNA or nursing assistant training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and promoting resident independence
• Knowledge of basic vital sign measurement and documentation
• Familiarity with infection control and patient safety practices
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Compassionate approach to dementia-related behaviors and geriatric needs
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident care tasks
