Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality progressive care nursing for a 28-bed PCU/IMCU with a cardiac population
• Monitor telemetry and respond to changes in patient status with timely interventions
• Administer cardiac drips and vasoactive medications such as Milrinone, Dobutamine, and pressors safely and accurately
• Perform thorough patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and follow individualized care plans
• Support lower-acuity telemetry assignments when needed to ensure smooth unit flow
• Document patient demographics and ensure badge-appropriate photo and required documentation are uploaded

Qualifications

• Documented PCU experience in your work history (required)
• Minimum 2 years PCU experience in a similarly sized facility (explicit requirement)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Comfortable managing cardiac drips, inotropes, and vasopressors
• Strong telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills
• Ability to function effectively at a ratio of approximately 1:3-4

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Cardiac nursing fundamentals including STEMI, NSTEMI, and post-cardiac surgery care
• Medication administration for inotropes and vasopressors
• Patient assessment and progressive care unit workflows
• Familiarity with PCU/IMCU operations and lower-acuity telemetry assignments
