Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate perioperative and surgical services to ensure safe, efficient patient care
• Supervise circulating RNs and clinical staff while fostering a collaborative team culture
• Oversee post-anesthesia care activities and ensure high standards of patient recovery
• Identify operational issues in the surgical department and implement effective short- and long-term solutions
• Delegate tasks and maintain efficient standards of operations to support smooth workflows
• Maintain composure and provide decisive leadership during clinical emergencies
• Work closely with physicians, ancillary departments, and peers to optimize patient outcomes
• Champion staff development, performance feedback, and a patient-first mindset

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (required)
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (required)
• Bachelor degree or equivalent (required)
• Minimum 5 years RN experience, including at least 2 years as a circulating RN in surgery (required)
• AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications (current/required)
• CNOR certification preferred
• One year post-anesthesia care experience preferred
• Previous leadership, supervisory or management experience preferred
• Strong written and oral English communication skills

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Bachelor degree or equivalent (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative and surgical services management
• Circulating RN experience in the OR and post-anesthesia care concepts
• Clinical leadership, team supervision, and staff development
• Ability to assess problems, triage priorities, and implement practical solutions
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and physicians
• Maintains calm under pressure and leads during emergency situations
• Familiarity with infection control, hazardous materials, and safe patient handling
