Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images
- Perform general X-ray, portable imaging, OR imaging, ED imaging and inpatient radiography with professionalism
- Evaluate images for technical quality and collaborate with radiologists to ensure clinical excellence
- Float between departments as assigned to meet patient care needs and maintain workflow
- Provide trauma radiography support (level 1/level 2 experience expected) during critical cases
- Work with students from local programs, perform competency check-offs, and serve as a clinical preceptor
- Document imaging procedures and findings accurately in EPIC and manage studies in Sectra/PACS
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and institutional protocols to protect patients and staff
Qualifications
- ARRT certification required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Graduate of a JRCERT/ARRT approved radiography program
- Minimum trauma experience: 1 year at a level 1 trauma center or 2–3 years at a large bed level 2 facility
- Comfortable and experienced in OR imaging, general X-ray, ED imaging and portable radiography
- Willingness to learn pediatric and neonatal imaging and to float between departments
- Experience with GE, Philips and CareStream imaging equipment is a plus
- Familiarity with EPIC and Sectra EMR/PACS workflows
Education
- Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiography program (Associate's degree or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong radiographic positioning and image quality evaluation skills
- Fluoroscopy operation and safety awareness
- Trauma radiography procedures and rapid response imaging
- Portable radiography technique and bedside patient care
- Proficient use of EPIC and Sectra PACS systems
- Comfortable teaching and performing competency check-offs for students
- Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced OR/ED environments
- Commitment to infection control and patient safety practices
