Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients arriving to the emergency department quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Provide direct bedside nursing care for acute and trauma presentations using evidence-based practice
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate timely treatment plans
• Document patient assessment, interventions, and outcomes clearly in the clinical documentation system (Meditech)
• Perform rapid clinical decision-making in high-acuity situations and participate in emergency procedures as needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care with compassion and clarity
• Participate in unit quality improvement and safety initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and workflow

Qualifications

• Active RN license (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with 2+ years of specialty Emergency Department experience preferred
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• PALS required
• TNCC required
• NIH certification required
• Meditech experience preferred
• Ability to work night 12-hour shifts and participate in every-other-weekend coverage and on-call rotations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency department nursing skills including triage, rapid assessment, and trauma management
• Clinical documentation proficiency, preferably with Meditech
• Excellent critical thinking and situational awareness in high-acuity settings
• Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
• Teamwork and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patients safely
