Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care for critically ill burn, trauma and surgical ICU patients
• Manage ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring and advanced critical care equipment
• Perform and assist with wound care, EVD management and massive transfusion protocol (MTP) when needed
• Respond rapidly and effectively to codes and emergency situations
• Communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams, patients and families to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions and patient progress accurately in Meditech
• Participate in unit-based teamwork and support peers during high-census periods
• Maintain safe patient ratios and escalate concerns to charge/leadership as appropriate

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be eligible to practice in Texas)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU or critical care nursing experience (Trauma, Burn or Surgical ICU experience required)
• BLS and ACLS required; CCRN preferred
• Comfortable with critical care procedures such as EVDs, wound care, MTP and code management
• Experience with Meditech EMR is a plus
• Strong communication, critical thinking and teamwork skills

Education

• BSN preferred
• ADN or diploma holders with relevant ICU experience will be considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of critical care equipment and monitoring
• Skilled in ventilator management and hemodynamic support
• Able to prioritize in high-acuity, fast-paced situations
• Proficient documentation practices and familiarity with Meditech
• Competent in wound care, EVD care and participation in MTP
• Excellent interpersonal skills for family communication and multidisciplinary collaboration
