Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, skilled nursing care to patients on the Acute Rehab unit
• Perform safe mobility and patient transfers using Hoyer lifts and transfer equipment
• Support activities of daily living (ADLs) and one-on-one patient mealtime assistance
• Administer and manage IV therapy, PICC/midline care, and infusion pump treatments
• Manage tube feedings (NG/kangaroo pumps) and NG tube care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in Meditech
• Collaborate closely with PT, OT, and ST to support patients' 3-hour therapy participation
• Round with patients each shift and actively prepare them for safe discharge

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (state licensure or compact eligible)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with Med/Surg training required
• Rehabilitation nursing experience preferred but not required
• BLS certification required; NIHHS preferred (not required)
• Experience with Meditech or similar electronic documentation systems
• Demonstrated competence with IV equipment, infusion pumps, PICC/midline care, Foley and NG management
• Ability to safely perform and teach patient transfers and use assistive equipment

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med/surg nursing knowledge with rehab-focused skills
• Familiarity with cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Skilled in safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Proficient with electronic charting (Meditech) and accurate documentation
• Comfortable managing tube feedings, IV therapy, and related equipment
• Good communication and patient education skills to support discharge planning
• Ability to work in a team-focused, CMS-regulated environment
