Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; schedule includes rotating weekends and may include occasional day shifts to cover staffing needs
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU, delivering compassionate, high-acuity care
- Operate and manage ventilators and provide intubation and extubation support when needed
- Titrate vasoactive, sedation, and paralytic drips safely and precisely
- Monitor patients via telemetry, EKG, and EEG and respond promptly to changes
- Coordinate and assist with procedures such as spinal taps, port access, and sedated MRI
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record and use medication systems like Pyxis
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and execute patient-centered plans
- Float to adjacent units such as NICU or OB/GYN when qualified, supporting flexible staffing needs
Qualifications
- Active RN license
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric ICU nursing experience
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Comfortable with high-acuity pediatric procedures and critical care equipment
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
- Strong communication skills and a patient, organized approach to care
Knowledge & Skills
- Ventilator management and respiratory support skills
- Intubation and extubation experience
- Titration of vasoactive, sedative, and paralytic drips
- Telemetry monitoring, EKG and EEG interpretation familiarity
- Experience with EMR Meditech and medication systems like Pyxis
- Familiarity with Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and pediatric warming equipment
- Comfort managing 1:1 to 1:2 patient ratios in a fast-paced environment
