Shift Type: Monday-Friday, daytime with evening coverage for events as needed; PRN/event coverage for evenings; occasional weekend and holiday event coverage (rotations/PRN)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide injury prevention, assessment, and emergency care at contracted high school athletic events and after-school activities
- Perform musculoskeletal evaluations, diagnose injuries, and develop evidence-based rehabilitation and return-to-play plans
- Assess and manage concussions, monitor symptoms, and supervise graduated return-to-play progress
- Document all evaluations and treatments with accuracy and attention to detail
- Communicate findings and care plans clearly with athletes, parents, coaches, and the care team
- Conduct occupational health tasks including POETs, desk assessments, FPNs, and functional progress assessments
- Serve as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic: take histories, assist with scheduling surgeries, and educate patients
- Coordinate coverage schedules and collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless event and clinic support
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology (required)
- 1+ years of related work experience in athletic training or sports medicine
- Current Athletic Trainer license for the state of Wisconsin (required)
- Board of Certification (Athletic Trainers) certification (required)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required)
- Valid, current driver's license (required)
- Intermediate to expert computer proficiency for documentation and scheduling
- Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal communication, and solid problem-solving skills
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required

- Injury prevention and rehabilitation best practices
- Musculoskeletal examination and assessment techniques
- Concussion evaluation and graduated return-to-play protocols
- Emergency care and on-field acute injury management
- Occupational health assessments, POETs, desk assessments, and FPNs
- Accurate clinical documentation and electronic record keeping
- Patient education and clear communication with multi-disciplinary teams
- Scheduling coordination and clinic/orthopedic support tasks
