Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide advanced respiratory care and ventilator management across ICU, NICU, ER and floor therapy settings
- Manage mechanical ventilation and noninvasive ventilation for patients from neonates to geriatrics
- Administer and monitor inhaled medications, including inhaled nitric oxide and heliox when indicated
- Perform arterial puncture and interpret blood gases to guide clinical decisions
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to optimize respiratory care plans
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and meet productivity standards (typical patient/case volumes provided during orientation)
- Participate in required virtual interview and supply a combined resume and full skills checklist for onboarding
Qualifications
- Mechanical ventilation and critical care experience required
- NICU experience preferred; NRP required if traveler has NICU experience
- Demonstrated experience with inhaled medications, noninvasive ventilation and arterial puncture
- Willingness to complete a virtual interview and submit a consolidated resume + skills checklist
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in respiratory therapy and ventilator management
- Mechanical ventilation and noninvasive ventilation skills
- Experience with inhaled medications, including LABA, LAMA, SABA, ICS, and surfactant
- Familiarity with inhaled nitric oxide and heliox therapy
- Comfort caring for a wide range of diagnoses: respiratory failure, COPD, asthma, pneumonia, CHF, sleep apnea, ARDS, prematurity and COVID-19
- Hands-on familiarity with common ventilators and equipment: Drager V500, VN500, Evita XL, Carina, Philips V60 and V30
- Ability to work across patient age groups: neonates, infants, adults and geriatrics
