Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered oncology nursing care on a 24-bed Oncology/Women's Surgical unit
• Perform thorough assessments and develop nursing plans that improve patient outcomes
• Document care accurately using Cerner EMR to ensure continuity and quality
• Support safe medication administration and coordinate care around chemotherapy when certified
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan and execute procedures such as pelvic exams, echo, and thoracentesis
• Educate patients and families about treatments, symptom management, and discharge plans
• Advocate for patients, prioritize safety, and contribute to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• CNA license noted in the posting (listed as part of typical licensure profile)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (explicitly listed)
• Chemo Certification preferred — candidates with this will be prioritized
• Comfortable using Cerner EMR for documentation and order management
• Team player mindset and willingness to learn in a fast-paced unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology nursing fundamentals and patient-centered care
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills
• IV therapy knowledge and safe medication administration practices
• Comfort supporting or performing procedures such as pelvic exams, echo, and thoracentesis
• Effective communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to manage patient ratios commonly 1:4 or 1:5 on this unit
