Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and patients for a wide range of cardiovascular, EP and neuro-interventional procedures to ensure safety and efficiency
• Circulate during diagnostic and interventional procedures and assist physicians as the clinical situation requires
• Perform comprehensive pre- and post-procedure assessments and monitor patients’ hemodynamic status
• Administer procedural sedation per policy and monitor responses, escalating concerns promptly
• Document care, handoffs and procedural logs accurately and in real time in MacLab/CardioLab and the electronic health record
• Operate and support specialized equipment including X-ray fluoroscopy, intra-cardiac ultrasound, and 3D mapping systems
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and follow ‘Full Stop/Time Out’ safety checks for every procedure
• Actively participate in precepting and mentoring new staff and contribute to unit education and quality improvement

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (State of Delaware) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• Recent ICU, CVICU, IMC or Cath Lab experience required; experience in Cardiovascular/EP Lab strongly preferred
• Competency in circulating procedures, procedural sedation, and X-ray fluoroscopy
• Familiarity with MacLab/CardioLab documentation systems and real-time procedural logging
• Device implant/revision and EP procedure experience preferred (pacemaker, ICD, ablations)
• Willingness to work varied shifts and respond to an on-call pager; new grads and med/surg-only nurses are not being considered at this time

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma (BSN preferred)
• If not BSN-prepared, BSN completion within 36 months of hire is required

Knowledge & Skills

• Hemodynamics monitoring and interpretation
• Patient preparation and peri-procedural assessment
• Intra-cardiac ultrasound and endovascular procedure support
• 3D mapping systems and electrophysiology procedural workflows
• Strong documentation skills in MacLab/CardioLab and electronic records
• Ability to maintain situational awareness during high-acuity interventions
• Effective communication and interdisciplinary teamwork during procedures
