Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic CT and X-ray examinations across patient age groups to produce high-quality images for interpretation
- Apply radiation protection principles and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure patient and team safety
- Administer contrast and operate automatic injector systems safely and appropriately for age-specific protocols
- Assist with interventional procedures, maintain sterile technique, and support physicians during invasive imaging
- Transmit studies via teleradiology and maintain accurate records and documentation
- Transfer and assess patients, providing compassionate care and appropriate positioning during exams
- Participate in daily and weekly equipment QC and assist with supply inventory and ordering
- Assume departmental responsibility in the absence of a supervisor and contribute to a positive team environment
- Attend departmental meetings, in-services, and disaster drills and pursue continuing education
Qualifications
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography (required)
- Clinical competency expected within 3 months of hire and maintained every three years
- Able to perform diagnostic exams relevant to assigned modality; additional ARRT or ARDMS certifications in CT, MR, MG, or NM are a strong plus
- Comfortable performing venipuncture and contrast administration according to protocol
- Willingness to take call and report to work promptly (department requires quick response)
- Able to work across imaging modalities (XR, CT, MRI, Mammography) as needed and adapt to changing department needs
- Strong communication skills, good judgment under stress, and commitment to patient-centered care
Education
- Current ARRT in Radiography (required)
- Clinical competency to be achieved within 3 months of hire and maintained every three years
Knowledge & Skills
- Diagnostic Radiography and CT proficiency
- Radiation protection and patient assessment
- Contrast administration and automatic injector operation
- Teleradiology transmission and sterile technique
- Quality assurance and daily/weekly QC procedures
- Patient transfer and compassionate age-appropriate care
- Familiarity with MRI, Mammography, and Nuclear Medicine concepts (preferred)
- Experience with ARRT and ARDMS credentialing pathways
