Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care in a busy ED
• Provide hands-on emergency nursing including cardiac monitoring and acute interventions
• Document patient care and clinical decisions thoroughly in Cerner
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
• Coach and mentor colleagues in real time to elevate team performance and patient safety
• Float to all sections of the Emergency Department as needed to support unit flow
• Maintain patient experience standards (AIDET, respectful communication, ongoing updates)

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Required certifications before or on start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS (ENPC within 90 days of hire)
• Experience in Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
• Previous HCA experience preferred
• Strong teamwork mindset and ability to provide constructive feedback; comfortable coaching peers
• Willingness to float within the Emergency Department

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and triage best practices
• Patient assessment and stabilization in acute settings
• Cardiac monitoring and interpretation of telemetry
• Proficient documentation in Cerner
• Experience with Baxter infusion pumps and GE monitors
• Ability to manage varied patient ratios and behavioral holds
• Excellent communication, AIDET patient experience approach, and bedside teaching skills
