Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform CT and radiology procedures following prescribed techniques and safety protocols
- Set up and adjust imaging equipment, selecting proper exposure settings for quality images
- Prepare imaging rooms, position patients, and arrange immobilization/support devices
- Mix and prepare contrast material and manage supplies needed for procedures
- Conduct routine quality control tasks and maintain QC reports for equipment and procedures
- Clean and maintain x-ray/CT rooms and equipment to ensure a safe environment
- Handle basic office duties such as scheduling, answering phones, and patient intake
- Respond to call assignments and provide diagnostic testing and general equipment maintenance
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure for patients and staff
Qualifications
- Completion of formal radiologic technologist training in an AMA-approved program
- ARRT registration (required)
- CT certification and a minimum of 6 months experience in CT procedures
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- MRI experience preferred (nice to have)
- Willingness to relocate to or live in a rural area
Education
- Formal radiologic technologist training (AMA-approved program)
Knowledge & Skills
- Image acquisition and patient positioning for high-quality diagnostic images
- Radiation protection principles and safe imaging practices
- Quality control procedures and documentation
- Operation and basic maintenance of imaging equipment
- Contrast preparation and safe handling
- Scheduling, phone/office duties, and strong patient communication
- Ability to perform diagnostic testing and troubleshoot equipment issues
