Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilator settings and perform ventilator management for critically ill patients
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases (ABGs) to guide therapy decisions
• Provide tracheostomy care, airway clearance, and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Deliver bronchodilator therapy and assist with intubations when needed
• Respond rapidly and effectively to code blue and emergency situations
• Safely transport patients and ensure continuity of respiratory care during transfers
• Document care accurately in Meditech and communicate clearly with the interdisciplinary team
• Support unit goals and contribute to a positive patient experience through excellent clinical assessment and compassionate care

Qualifications

• RRT or CRT required
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (ICU experience preferred)
• Hands-on experience with ventilators and airway management (Drager, Philips V60 experience a plus)
• Ability to work a 13-week travel assignment and meet licensure requirements for the state

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in ventilator management and weaning strategies
• Proficient in ABG collection and interpretation
• Skilled in trach care, airway clearance techniques, and high-flow O2 therapy
• Familiarity with Drager ventilators, Philips V60, Vapotherm, and Metaneb devices
• Comfortable documenting in Meditech and collaborating with ICU teams
• Strong patient assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills
