Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to newborns in the NICU and nursery
• Perform neonatal assessments and continuous monitoring of vital signs
• Lead or assist in neonatal resuscitation and emergency interventions as needed
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and families to coordinate care plans
• Document patient status and care accurately in the electronic medical record
• Educate and support families on newborn care, feeding and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Current RN license (Louisiana or compact RN license accepted)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Experience in NICU and/or nursery nursing (clinical experience preferred)
• Active healthcare provider status and ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a patient- and family-centered approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in neonatal assessment, thermoregulation and safe newborn handling
• Knowledge of neonatal resuscitation protocols and emergency response
• Familiarity with feeding support, jaundice management and basic neonatal lab interpretation
• Proficient with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to work independently on night shift and escalate concerns appropriately
• Comfortable collaborating in a multidisciplinary team environment
