Roles & Responsibilities

• Partner with clinical leaders and the CNA clinical educator to design and deliver meaningful LTC training programs
• Develop, standardize, and streamline clinical competency programs that support policy and accreditation standards
• Select and implement curriculum for clinical training and ensure educational activities align with organizational goals
• Provide hands-on preceptorship support and coordinate student clinical experiences with local universities
• Use evidence-based research to evaluate and improve professional development, nursing practice, and patient outcomes
• Serve as a collaborative member of the Clinical Nursing Education team and contribute to consortium-wide projects
• Act as a liaison for other clinical education opportunities and promote high-quality, patient-centered training
• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of educational activities and ensure policy compliance

Qualifications

• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) required
• Current full, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (Direct hire must have applied for Alaska license before start date)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for providers required
• BLS Instructor certification preferred (or obtain within 1 year of hire)
• Clinical competency assessment completion required within first 3 months
• 5 years of professional nursing experience, including at least 2 years in long-term care
• 2 years of clinical instructor/educator experience (one year may be replaced by supervisory experience)
• Comfort with travel (approximately 30%) by jet, small aircraft, and ferry

Education

• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from an accredited school of nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical education and curriculum development for adult learners
• Long-term care nursing practices and geriatric patient care
• Competency standardization and evaluation methods
• Evidence-based practice and professional development strategies
• Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Familiarity with education delivery tools (Microsoft Teams, Workday, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Articulate, Canva, Smartsheet)
• Ability to create positive learning environments and effective preceptorships
• Policy compliance, program implementation, and interprofessional collaboration
