Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, skilled nursing care to long-term care residents during the night shift
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document in the resident record
• Perform regular resident assessments, monitor changes, and escalate concerns to the clinical team
• Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain accurate, timely charting and handoffs to day-shift staff
• Support infection prevention, resident safety, and facility policies during overnight hours
• Offer comfort, reassurance, and person-centered care to residents and families

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (appropriate state licensure required)
• Experience or comfort working in long-term care (LTC) settings preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and alternating 3/4-week schedules
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
• Dependable, professional, and able to work independently overnight
• Clear communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Resident assessment and monitoring during overnight hours
• Medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Familiarity with long-term care workflows and resident-centered care
• Basic infection control and safety procedures
• Effective handoff communication and teamwork
• Time management for overnight clinical responsibilities
