Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care to adult ICU patients, including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Manage post-CABG and high-acuity cardiac patients with precision and compassion
• Collaborate with intensivists and the multidisciplinary team to develop and execute patient care plans
• Perform and assist with advanced unit procedures as indicated by intensivists
• Document patient status and interventions accurately in Meditech and maintain bedside shift reports
• Participate in bedside handoffs and update patient whiteboards to ensure continuity of care
• Support unit goals for patient safety, infection control, and quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• 2+ years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with ventilated patients, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-CABG care
• Meditech experience preferred
• CVICU, ECMO, or heart transplant exposure is a strong plus
• Professional bedside manner with commitment to bedside shift reporting and teamwork

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong ventilator and respiratory management skills
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive drips
• Familiarity with cardiac critical care practices including post-op CABG care
• Comfort working in very high acuity units (ECMO, transplant support)
• Effective communication for handoffs and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Accurate clinical documentation and charting (Meditech experience helpful)
• Clinical decision-making and prioritization under pressure
