Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the Long-Term Care QAPI program to improve resident care and safety
- Plan, organize, and direct quality assurance activities across the facility
- Conduct chart audits, performance measurement and data analysis to identify improvement opportunities
- Facilitate infection control activities and ensure compliance with CMS and regulatory standards
- Coordinate and support accreditation readiness and participate in facility surveys
- Develop, review, and revise policies and procedures to reflect best practices and regulations
- Perform root cause analyses (RCA) and support investigations of incidents and complaints
- Organize and facilitate quality committee meetings and track action items to completion
- Provide education, coaching, and mentorship to staff to embed quality into daily practice
Qualifications
- Current full, unrestricted, active Registered Nursing license in Alaska (required)
- CPHQ or QCP, or other long-term care quality certification obtained within the last 3 years (required)
- Minimum 2 years of experience monitoring quality and regulatory requirements and coordinating process changes
- Demonstrated leadership in facilitating cross-functional teams and collaborative improvement efforts
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Clinical Competency Assessment (SEARHC) or equivalent experience
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30%
Education
- Active Registered Nursing license in Alaska (degree not specified in posting)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of accreditation requirements across long-term care, acute care, ambulatory, and behavioral health
- Strong working knowledge of patient care principles, standards of care, and regulatory compliance (CMS)
- Skill in data analytics, chart review, and presenting outcomes (including Microsoft Excel)
- Experience with root cause analysis, incident investigation, and risk management
- Excellent verbal and written communication and coaching skills
- Ability to lead meetings, prioritize initiatives, and drive measurable improvements
- Familiarity with Datix or similar incident reporting systems is a plus
