Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate ICU nursing care for cardiac and critically ill patients in the CCU
• Continuously monitor and manage hemodynamics using PA catheters and advanced monitoring tools
• Care for and troubleshoot mechanical circulatory support devices including IABP and Impella
• Perform or assist with procedures such as central line insertion, Swan-Ganz placement, and intubation
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech and communicate changes in patient status promptly
• Support the unit by floating when needed and working with student nurse externs as appropriate
• Participate in unit initiatives and quality improvement efforts for the cardiogenic shock program

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Tennessee or valid compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU / critical care nursing experience with strong cardiac/CCU background
• Current ACLS required; BLS required
• Hands-on experience with PA catheter hemodynamic monitoring, IABP, and Impella
• CRRT experience preferred
• Comfortable with central line and Swan-Ganz procedures and with responding to intubations
• Able to work rotating 12-hour night shifts and 3-4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• PA catheter (Swan-Ganz) management
• Experience with IABP and Impella patient care
• Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) familiarity
• Central line care and insertion assistance
• Intubation support and airway management
• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Proficiency with Meditech documentation
