Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and direct pharmacy operations across assigned sites, ensuring high-quality, safe medication use
- Collaborate with system pharmacy leadership to analyze issues, develop solutions, and drive operational planning
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality assurance measures that meet regulatory standards
- Manage staffing functions including hiring, staff development, performance evaluations, and corrective actions
- Oversee financial and operational targets by monitoring budgets, productivity, and inventory control
- Partner with information systems to optimize pharmacy information management and charging systems
- Represent pharmacy on interdisciplinary committees (P&T, Safety, Patient Medication Safety, Information Systems) to influence system-wide initiatives
- Act as a resource and mentor to pharmacy staff, stepping in to perform managerial duties as needed
Qualifications
- PharmD degree from an accredited college or university
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration or equivalent experience
- Active Illinois pharmacist license (required)
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory/management experience in a health-system pharmacy setting
- Proven experience in policy and procedure development, quality assurance, and performance management
- Comfort leading committees and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated leadership capability
Education
- PharmD from an accredited college or university
- ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration preferred or equivalent work experience
