Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in the emergency department with professionalism and compassion
- Triage patients quickly and accurately, prioritizing care based on clinical need
- Assess patient condition, communicate changes to physicians and mid-level providers, and implement treatment plans
- Operate and monitor manual and electronic medical equipment and administer IV therapy as indicated
- Lead and coordinate care with ER techs, registration staff, allied health staff, and family members
- Respond rapidly and effectively to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
- Document clinical care and communicate diagnostic results clearly to the care team
Qualifications
- Current MT State RN license required
- Degree from an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS required; PALS, TNCC, and ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) is preferred
- Strong teamwork, leadership, and basic office/computer skills
Education
- Degree from an accredited nursing program (required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing principles and procedures
- Triage and rapid patient assessment
- IV skills and safe medication administration
- Comfortable using electronic medical equipment and basic computer systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to prioritize, stay flexible, and perform under pressure
