Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care in the emergency department with professionalism and compassion
• Triage patients quickly and accurately, prioritizing care based on clinical need
• Assess patient condition, communicate changes to physicians and mid-level providers, and implement treatment plans
• Operate and monitor manual and electronic medical equipment and administer IV therapy as indicated
• Lead and coordinate care with ER techs, registration staff, allied health staff, and family members
• Respond rapidly and effectively to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
• Document clinical care and communicate diagnostic results clearly to the care team

Qualifications

• Current MT State RN license required
• Degree from an accredited nursing program required; BSN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS, TNCC, and ENPC required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) is preferred
• Strong teamwork, leadership, and basic office/computer skills

Education

• Degree from an accredited nursing program (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing principles and procedures
• Triage and rapid patient assessment
• IV skills and safe medication administration
• Comfortable using electronic medical equipment and basic computer systems
• Excellent communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to prioritize, stay flexible, and perform under pressure
