Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients to identify functional strengths and needs and establish meaningful goals
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient priorities
- Implement therapeutic procedures and train patients in use of assistive devices to maximize independence
- Document assessments, treatment progress, and discharge plans clearly and timely
- Collaborate with the rehabilitation team and referring physicians to coordinate care
- Ensure practice aligns with the California State Practice Act and facility policies
Qualifications
- Current California Occupational Therapist License (required)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy (required)
- Ability to evaluate and treat patients under physician orders and manager direction
- Familiarity with therapeutic procedures, assistive devices, and treatment planning
- Professional communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Education
- Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient evaluation and assessment techniques
- Treatment planning and goal setting for functional outcomes
- Occupational therapy interventions and therapeutic procedures
- Use and training of assistive devices and adaptive equipment
- Understanding and compliance with the State Practice Act
- Effective interdisciplinary collaboration and clinical documentation
