Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate patient flow across the hospital to ensure timely admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Provide direction and guidance to nursing staff on policies, procedures, and clinical decision making
- Assign and optimize nursing resources, acting as a resource nurse when needed
- Collaborate closely with charge nurses, clinical staff, and the Chief Nursing Officer to resolve issues
- Coach and mentor staff, monitor productivity, and provide constructive feedback
- Respond to patient and family concerns with empathy and clear communication
- Oversee care for critically ill patients, including those on ventilators and with invasive lines
- Ensure safe use of advanced equipment such as A-lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps
Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Montana (required)
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience in a hospital setting, recent ICU experience preferred
- Current CPR required
- ACLS and PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Experience with ventilator support, cardiac monitoring, and care across the lifespan
- Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and strong communication skills
Education
- Degree from a Nursing Program
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced nursing principles and post-operative/medical patient care
- Cardiac monitoring and management of invasive lines
- Patient flow management and resource allocation
- Proficiency with multiple IV pumps and advanced medical equipment
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and customer service orientation
- Ability to initiate and develop projects and handle a busy workload
